Google Business Profile: the free listing most shops ignore
Your Google listing can bring calls every day without ad spend. Here is a 20-minute checklist to fix it.
When someone searches “salon near me” or “physiotherapy in Pune”, Google shows a map with three businesses. Those listings come from Google Business Profile, and setting one up is free.
The 20-minute checklist
- Pick the most accurate primary category, then add 2–3 secondary ones.
- Add correct opening hours, including holidays.
- Upload at least 10 real photos: outside, inside, team and work.
- Write a description that says what you do and which areas you serve.
- Add your services with short descriptions and prices if possible.
- Turn on messaging and add your WhatsApp or booking link.
Reviews matter more than you think
Ask every happy customer for a review and reply to every review, good or bad. Never buy reviews or offer discounts in exchange for them: it breaks Google’s rules and can get your listing suspended.
Post once a week
Share offers, new work and updates as Google posts. Regular activity shows Google your business is open and active.
